large notes will cause loading of a media annotation to fail

Description

I'm passing stuff on the URL, which means it's limited size. What I should do is find another way to get that iformation communicated. I doubt you can pass POST, but perhaps the page can be loaded up blank, and when it's ready, the applet can be loaded in from overlay.js directly? Is there some sort of event thing that can be used to communicate this? I'd prefer events than to pool for loading to be done.
